The World Series of Poker held the FIRST ANNUAL WORLD SERIES OF POKER at the LEGANDARY HORSESHOE CASINO in 1970.

Fewer than 50 Poker tables were in the whole of Las Vegas in 1970. The host Casino did not even have a Poker Room to the 30 or so entrants to the Event that would become known as theWORLD SERIES OF POKER.
